Urgent! Can not make Calls from Republic of Ireland - Apparently "No Service"???

Hi,

I am in the same position on this and its completely ridiculous. I am in the Republic of Ireland in Dublin on business and have "No Service" and can not make any calls and have people messaging me on Whatsapp when I have Wifi telling me that phone is not connecting. I even bought a bundle for add-ons for this in an attempt to get this to work here but still it does not work! I even tried to change my settings to allow me to do this on the account setting but it just says "blocked" and it will not allow me to change it! And I can not call 150 to get this resolved as my phone has no service. I can't send you a text because it bouncing back because I have no network. I can't call via Wifi because that would mean calling you Whatsapp or other app but does not seem to be possible! Honestly what a complete let down- I will be changing my network provider and seeking compensation from you around this because the same silly thing happened when I was in The Netherlands on business back in September 2021! Honestly EE for the largest coverage and all that other stuff this is so poor!

Fix this straightaway please!!!!!

FYI - I have limited connecting as I'm on Wifi so I expect someone to get in touch and resolve this ASAP. Please let me know where I can send direct message you my number and details for you to get this resolved! I need this done straight away as I have another meeting to attend at this rate I will not be able to use my "mobile phone" on the move when the whole point is that the phone is "mobile""

Please Fix this immediately!

Thank you

Lamin!

@LaminO : No one will get in touch with you from this user discussion forum other than thro' the medium of these forum by posts such as this. Anyway we haven't the faintest idea who you are.

Are you on contract or PAYG? Did you use that SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad?

If you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c.

Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Otherwise try logging into your MyEE account online & go to Menu > Account Settings > Parental and Data Controls > Roaming Abroad and also Call Abroad and Premium Rate. They will show as ticked if roaming and calling abroad is activated. If they are not ticked, can you activate these settings?

If you can't enable the Roaming Abroad and the Call Abroad & Premium Rate settings of your MyEE, you will need to call CS. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. over Skype. It should be free.

PAYG is auto enabled for roaming. You won't see any of those settings & don't need to change anything. If outside EU, do you have enough credit for making calls & texts from abroad?
