Immediately after upgrading I receive a text from EE
"Upgrade today and get an exclusive £5 a month customer discount on ANY new phone on ANY standard price plan. Why? Because EE customers like you get dibs on the best deals we can possibly offer."
Would EE be able to ammend my new plan with this promo? Seems weird that it came through at the same time as upgrading or just dumb luck.

It does just seem like bad luck that the text came through shortly after placing your order.
It is worth speaking to our customer service guides to see if they can do anything on your existing order.
If they can't, they may be able to cancel the order for you to be able to place it again using the voucher code.
