re text me to tell me I have unlimited data and today won’t allow me to text a photo to my granddaughter because I don’t have spend cap left. How does that work?

Multimedia photo & video messages are chargeable and not covered by any SMS text message allowance.

If you have a spend-cap, this will prevent the charge being incurred and thus the message being sent.

MMS messages are chargeable. 

  • Are you in the UK
  • Are you on EE PAYG or pay monthly contract.

Texting a photo or any other attachment is known as an MMS or Picture Msg. MMS are not included in your texts allowance & so are chargeable (40p PAYG or 89p Contract). Your Spend Cap is blocking that charge. They have nowt to do with your data.
