Was only a short text, I even tried texting my daughter with just "hello" and still received the error code

I've tried rebooting phone several times and it's still not sending messages

Hi Everyone,

We've checked and there are no faults with the EE network. There is an issue with other mobile networks affecting text messages and calls. If you're experiencing issues please try again later.

James

Just annoying, my daughter and my mum are on Giff Gaff and Tesco, but don't have any issues..its just me. Yet it was working absolutely fine this morning

The SMS protocol itself limits each SMS to 160 chars. independent of network. Hence the "Short" 😉!

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Surely just saying "hello" isn't going over the character limit.

@kfoyle1 : No, of course not! It's only 7 chars 😉.

I had to reboot a few times whilst on with EE support.  I then tried to send a message and it worked.  It is a bit intermittent in that I initially get the error 0 code but then retry the message and it sends.  I can also now call.  It only affected 2 mobile numbers in my contacts list- my husband and my son.  Very strange

When I asked the support chap what caused it he said it sometimes happens with networks

when I asked what I should do if it happens again he said reboot the phone (basically until it works)

Not an ideal situation!

My point exactly

Weird isn't it? Was yours working too this morning?
