Unable to call from Australia to UK with roaming package enabled

RaindanceCru
Explorer

I purchased  the £12.50 pass to be able to use my data, SMS and phone calls allowance in Australia. I am able to use my data and send SMS, however, I cannot call any number in the UK. I have received calls from the UK, but unable to make any calls back home.

There are two networks here (Telstra and Optus) I have connected to both using the network operators option on my S22 ultra. I have even selected automatic network operator. Every time I attempt to make a call (Even to EE) I get a message that this service is not available and I need to contact my operator..... which I cannot!!

EE online chat is not available right now............... so ummmmm, someone please help,

Hello @RaindanceCru ,

Welcome to the community,

Are you on pay as you go or monthly contract?

If on monthly contract, did you enable roaming on your account? Not necessary for pay as you go, as it is automatically enabled.

You can contact EE for free if you have Skype:

https://ee.co.uk/contact-ee/account-billing/mobile

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

Your ability to use mobile data, receive calls and send text messages tells me you have a connection to Australian networks, and therefore by extension roaming is enabled.

An inability to make calls suggests you have an international call bar active - the intervention of EE CS will be needed to rectify this.

Yep full contract (for about 20 years!) Yes, Enabled roaming.... here is the message that was sent to me before I left the UK

Hi from EE, While you are in Australia  thanks to your roaming pass you can use your plan minutes, texts and data allowance at no extra costs.

I don't have access to Skype - Either call me or whattsapp really

Thanks!

@RaindanceCru , this is not customer service, you have to ring them to sort this out, doubt they would ring you, as you need to sort this out. You can easily download Skype and then ring them for free, do not need to add money to make a call.
