Has Wi-Fi calling stopped working for anyone else today 27/08/2025
Not using Starlink, on standard BT broadband.
All our EE mobile phones have lost Wi-Fi calling together
Rebooted and still not working

That's because WhatsApp is an internet-app, and doesn't route their calls through the same network as direct-dialled calls. Usage of WhatsApp between its users is just internet-data, there's no onward connectivity to other networks or operators - just in-app data.

Hi There,
Does anyone from EE actually read and respond to these comments or is it a user (read venting page only?
I have seen discussions over the recent issue with Wi-Fi calling which appears to affect customers using other ISP's but the problem is particularly with Starlink. I am a Starlink user and they have sent this:
Dear Wi-Fi Calling Provider. I experienced recent issues making WiFi calls that is being IP restricted on Starlink internet. I was provided the following information to relay to you to help resolve this: Starlink is a new global Internet Service Provider and our IPv4/IPv6 address space is continuously expanding. Per RFC 8805, Starlink's Self-Published IP Geolocation Feeds can be found at the following link for machine consumption: https://geoip.starlinkisp.net/feed.csv. This is currently being ingested at a regular schedule with major geolocation providers. If you maintain a local geolocation database, we request that you update your geolocation records per the self-published feed or utilize the major geolocation providers
My wifi calling is currently working but intermittent and I need to keep rebooting the router in order to get Wi-Fi calling to kick in and it goes off without me noticing. As I don't have any signal at home I am dependant upon wifi calling for business and home use. I am following up with Starlink but it would be good to know if anyone from EE is actually working on this issue too?
On another note. I am 30 miles outside of London and have zero 3G/4G or 5G reception - EE signal is available 300 metres from my house in each direction. Is there anything I can do to apply for a mast or something to be tweaked to give me a better reception? or alternatively is there anyhting I can put in my house or on the roof that will give me a signal that avoids me being wholly dependant upon wifi? - If I have an emergency during a power cut, I have no way of contacting anyone?

EE staff, denoted by the "Community Support Team" rank, do read & respond to posts as necessary, but this is primarily a user/peer-based forum.

By means of network background - EE's 3G network was sunsetted Q1-2024 nationally, 4G is now the base coverage layer and nationally, coverage exceeds that of 2G since many years.
Network rollout doesn't work on an "application" basis, but is driven centrally by radio planners. WiFi-calling is EE's preferred mitigation for indoor coverage issues when they occur, although there are booster & microcell-type solutions available at additional cost. Boosters generally attract a 3-figure price-tag and need professional installation. Microcells are the ultimate solution and are often used to provide specialist in-building coverage at busy & prominent locations.
Many users, myself included, retain landlines for various reasons - emergency resilience being one. Ultimately you make a cost/benefit analysis, and this dictates your purchasing decisions.

I still have my landline for the same reason. Power cuts are frequent in my location in rural North Dorset. My computers and Sky Box are attached to UPS boxes which provide up to two hours of back up power giving me time to gracefully shut down the devices. When my landline is cut off I have considered attaching my router to a UPS. Our power cuts can be well over two hours but it would give me time to call for help, but only if WiFi calling continues to work. Note: I have Wessex Internet fibre to the house not Starlink.

Hello,
The lady I spoke with from EE complaints department last week did say that this forum is monitored by EE current and ex colleagues offering help and support, with any reoccurring problems put forward to the relevant team to look into and deal with. The lady could see my logs on this forum as well as the others.

Samsung software update today and WiFi calling is back. Not sure it will last but fingers crossed.

I have exactly the same problem.
Wifi calling very rarely working on our 3 phones. Samsung S24 Ultra, Pixel 8a, iPhone 15.
Using Starlink as well. Before about 3 weeks ago it has been absolutely fine.
All other devices are fine. Our VOIP phones via another provider are fine.
Reboots or router/phones etc have not resolved anything.
I've tried 5g / 2.4g wifi networks and this changes nothing.
If I restart my phone I may briefly be able to get to my voicemails (to delete the messages from the calls I've missed).
I'm 99.9% sure this is an EE problem.

Have you tried reboot in the last 24 hours? I had an update message and it’s fixed ours and also our neighbours, thank goodness

As in, a Starlink update (reboot required)

Same for both myself and my wife
