Hi. I have a Sim only contract with unlimited calls and texts. Today I got a message after trying to send a text saying I don't have enough Spend Cap balance . I had a look but don't want to increase my spend cap as I shouldnt need to becuase I have unlimited texts. This was working when I last sent a text on Monday (it's now Thursday - I dont send many traditional texts). I saw someone with a similar issue and followed the 'text 150 and arrange someone to call you' advice but then got a text saying 'something went wrong...call us on 150'. When i called back and got to the menu about Spend Cap, it hung up saying it will send me a message about spend caps which it did but I really need to understand why the texts arent working

Hey @Muzmuzmuz
Thanks for coming to the community.
I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issues when trying to send a text.
Are these standard texts to UK mobile numbers?
Are your messages trying to send as SMS or MMS?
Debbie 🙂

Have inserted an emoji or attached a picture or something to the text? These turn the normal SMS text into an MMS which is chargeable outside your text allowance.

I have just had the exact same. I can't make calls or send texts. When I phoned 150 they only ask you to press either 1 or 2 then they cut you off & send a link which doesn't answer why this has happened

Hi @Sue225
Welcome to the community.
Are these standard texts and calls to UK numbers that you're having some trouble with?
Do you have a Spend Cap in place on your account, and if so, is this set at £0?

I have exactly the same - my wife has unlimited sim and has a £50 spend cap in place - she can text anyone else but me - it says she has reached spend cap and will not send .... so yes standard and yes UK and yes has spend cap in place (with no spend registered this month).
Any helpful answers would be appreciated
Mark
