I get daily spam texts from names like ‘Sara’ advertising gambling services amongst others. I can’t report them to 7726 because there is no number attached, just the name.
How can I stop this? I don’t want to mute them because they still come up at the top of my inbox constantly.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

This isn't just EE - I get these type of messages on Three as well. No point in reporting or complaining because they'll do nothing.
Only this morning I got one from a ridiculous name - 'grohoskeeksohorgw.... ' starting "Hi, I'm Anna. Nice to meet you" purporting to be 28yo and looking for a relationship - also, she wants a man with good manners 🙂
Typical scam from Eastern Europe or Far East.

Hi @maglite_1_
I am sorry to hear you are receiving these texts.
You should be able to use the company name or the name that shows once you have forwarded the text to 7726 instead of the number. please see our Online Security: Avoid and Prevent Scams | EE Help page for full details.

I am also getting this daily around the same time - it’s driving me nuts - I’ve had my number for years. Can’t block as no number pass on to 7726 and they ask for a number - most seem to be files as see bel ow picture shows when you send to 7726
when you click on the name sending it there is no number - click on info and everything is greyed out - can’t block I’ve been trying to hide alerts but keep coming from different names
Has anyone managed to stop it yet?

Same here. Looking for a solution and came across this thread. I see the original thread was started 2 years ago. Surly EE has worked on a solution to this by now.
@Leanne_T is there a fix to this ongoing problem as protecting its costumers from scammers must be a top priority for EE.
But I'm in the same boat as everyone else, I can not report it as there is no number attached.

It doesn't look like protecting vulnerable customers from exploitative businesses is any where near the EE priority list. I would agree its very disappointing that EE have done nothing about this or can offer any helpful advice, years after they have been made aware!

Hi @ademogs.
Thanks for coming here.
You should still be able to forward this message to 7726 for further investigation.
Are you receiving multiple texts from different companies?
What phone are you using?
