Spam texts from name no number

I get daily spam texts from names like ‘Sara’ advertising gambling services amongst others. I can’t report them to 7726 because there is no number attached, just the name.

How can I stop this? I don’t want to mute them because they still come up at the top of my inbox constantly.

Yes you do, you are asked to forward the number that sent it! 7726 only works for spam messages from a phone number

You can't even block all unknown contacts I tried that!

I get this too. You forward the text as advised by ee and you get a reply asking for the number. There is no number.

Long term ee customer here. I shall immediately leave ee and go elsewhere. Why pay any money whatsoever to a company that won't bother to sort this out.

I urge all others to leave too, if you stay, well then you are a fool and stop moaning.

And it has been over a year since the original post here. People have done that, nothing gets done. I would rather go with a network where I do not get spammed and if I do, they sort it out.

I have reported this to EE as well as getting missed calls with one number different to mine. The advice from EE was to change my number. I’ve had this number for 17 years and don’t want to change it. I just quite simply want to stop it. Can’t block and can’t report the texts as there is no number.
My question is. Did you get a resolve in the end? Or have any suggestions to block them on an iPhone. 😀

No, sorry you just have to put up with it or change your number - I've had
mine forever too. I did add all my actual contacts to a group list and then
showed them separately in my texts so I don't have to see the spam but it
doesn't stop them just hides them when I'm going through texts

Following to see if there is any positive outcome. Mine are not just annoying but distressing - when I get them at 2am and then cannot get back to sleep. I don’t want to turn my alerts off as I have an elderly mother who may actually need me at that time.

Of course not. EE Don’t care. Only option is to change your number/switch mobile network. I am paying for a third party app to filter my texts for me as I still get 6-8 a day of these texts.

Hello.
Sadly no positive outcome. Still getting the spam texts twice a week, same day, same time. I’m so frustrated as I never signed up to the rubbish that’s being sent. I still block every single time yet get another.
Thankfully the missed calls have stopped. I found those incredibly frustrating and worrying.
