Spam texts from name no number

Jonbris

I get daily spam texts from names like ‘Sara’ advertising gambling services amongst others. I can’t report them to 7726 because there is no number attached, just the name.

How can I stop this? I don’t want to mute them because they still come up at the top of my inbox constantly.

Also have this issue. Ridiculous amount of messages. Have spoken to ee who state they won’t do anything. Pretty concerning the network we pay for is allowing us to be abused and has no interest in stopping the abuse. I guess ee are probably being paid by the scammers for access to their network. It absolutely stinks and ee should be resolving this as an absolute priority

Hi @Jubber4568

I am sorry to hear you are receiving spam messages.

If you can please forward the message to 7726 and our security team will get the message looked into. If the message has no contact details, can you block the message in your phone settings?

You can find more information in our Prevent scams including phishing, vishing and smishing, Help page.

Leanne.

Hi,

Yes we can but as they are not messages from a number there is nothing you
can do, this also means we are unable to block them. Please read the nature
of discussion before replying.

Thanks,
Rebecca

Thanks for coming back to us @Tttttt1

Is the message a pop up that appears on your phone, or is this showing in your messages?

Can you attach a screenshot of the message?

I feel your pain, I think it's ridiculous ee refuse to do anything about it. I have gone all the way through all their options and there is literally nothing to be done apart from changing my number but that won't actually stop the messages - not really helpful....

And then how do you suggest we get the phone number to respond the the 7726 when there is none?
