Hello community,
I have recently got a new iPhone and have installed my SIM card everything is working. However someone has tried messaging me via SMS but the text is not being reciecved instead it is going to my old phone which has no SIM card and only WiFi connection, I use the old phone for browsing internet solely. I don’t understand what is going on and how this is possible? Both phones are connected to the WiFi but the phone without SIM card is receiving the text which should be received by the new phone as it has the SIM card, I am baffled as to what is going on and why is the text being intercepted by a sim less phone?

Did you move your existing SIM from your old phone to your new phone? Or were you sent a new SIM with the new phone? Was this done as an EE upgrade?
I have to say that it's impossible for a SIM-less phone to receive an SMS. It has no mobile no. & isn't even connected to the EE network. It can't be doing it by WiFi Calling over your WiFi connection for the same reason.

Hi @Dubz1 ,
Are the messages which you receive on your old phone inside a green box or a blue box?
Do they arrive even when WiFi is turned off on your old phone?

I can confirm this being an issue. I have the exact problem. moved sim from androind to iphone but some messages go to my old phone with no sim. I'm not sure if this will occur outside the wifi zone though. So XRaySpeX you're wrong. SMS can be received without sim.
A solution to this issue would be nice, thank you...

No problem @ilmane
Please follow the instructions in this Google support article to turn off RCS chat and that should resolve the issue.
