How do I turn roaming on while I’m abroad I have paid the monthly subscription

There's no subscription to enable roaming, but it sounds like you've added a billing add-on.

To enable international roaming whilst abroad on pay-monthly, you will need to call CS from either another phone or a web-calling app such as Skype.

Enabling roaming in the UK can be done by texting ROAMING to 150. Without a connection to a foreign network, you cannot do this once you've left the UK.
