Hi, I've purchased the roaming pack before coming to Australia. I've done all right things to make it to work but it's not. Can someone help?

Hi @Snapper1975

Thanks for coming here.

Did you text ROAMING to 150 before travelling to make sure roaming was also set up with the roaming add-on?

Do you have signal showing?

What happens if you try and make a call?

Leanne 🙂

Hi, yes I've done all the above. I organised this before I left. I've done all the settings etc.
I'm even in WiFi and it still doesn't work. I can't even txt or call as it won't let me because I'm in Australia so I have no way of contacting ee which is very frustrating as I've got a business to run aswell.
Can you help?
Cheers

Hi @Snapper1975

Can you try and manually select a network in your phone settings, does this show any networks available?

Leanne.

It's on YES OPTUS and I have 4 bars. I can't even send WhatsApp messages. I've turned my phone on and off but nothing.
Everything roaming is allowed so its crazy it's not working.
Cheers

Hi @Snapper1975

Do you hear a message when you try and make a call?

Can you receive calls and texts?

Leanne.

EE's part of the setup for international roaming is to enable two options on your account in the UK - "international roaming" & "call abroad & premium rate". It is these which enable your phone to connect to a local network in foreign countries, and then to make calls.

If those two requirements are inplace and you have issues, then it's often a problem with the local network you're connected to. Restarting your phone and/or manually selecting an alternative operator, will often resolve this.

Then there must be a fault with your device. Using WiFi is not roaming & has nowt to do with EE or its mobile network.
