Re: Calls going directly to answer machine

Hi - all my incoming calls have started going through directly to voicemail for some unknown reason: I am in a hurry and all of the information I have so far seen covers everything except this issue. With BT I was able to set voice mail to long ring, short ring or no ring incredibly easily via the voicemail menu under "calling options". Why cannot this be dine with EE, I wonder? Unless I am being incredibly thick and missing something, of course!

Plus it transpires that there is no way currently to speak with anyone, and the text help response service has come up three times this afternoon saying cannot help due to errors at EE's end.

Can anybody help please (and at the same time, maybe also advise if EE is viololating the Trade Descriptions Act by calling itself a "communications" company!?). Many thanks in advance!

In no particular order, and some of these may vary depending on Android/Apple..

1: Toggle network mode form 4G/auto, to force 2G - your phone's network selection menu may not always allow this. Not recommended for anything other than testing, but does this make any difference?

2: Do incoming calls arrive when you are already on an outgoing call? This will test paging vs call-waiting.

3: Does the presence, or otherwise, of caller-ID on the incoming call make any difference? Test with a withheld number, unknown number & recognised number - to prove.

4: Intentionally block a contacts number, test call yourself, then unblock and test call. Any difference?

5: Repeat the principle of step 4 but with intentionally setting an unconditional "divert all calls". Any difference?

6: Test in a different location, the symptoms are not consistent with a radio coverage issue but if all else is still failing - prove this.
