Plus net transfer whilst overseas

Hi, I had to change from plusnet but I’m overseas in the USA. I’ve put my new EE sim in but I can’t get texts etc. bit of an issue now everything is 2FA. Any advice?

Was the SIM card registered in the UK with the temporary number? Do you know if roaming was set up on your account?
