Hello there, I’m from Canada but bought an EE sim when I landed in London. Im currently in Malaga, Spain. As I’m travelling various countries in Europe, this pack was supposed to be good for all of them until December 3rd and I was told I could top up after that. It says I still have 18 of 30 gigs of data left, unlimited text + minutes. However my phone is only saying ORANGE now which I’ve learned only gets me 3G. I’m so confused. Please help! My email is ********if anyone can help me out that would be amazing. Thanks
[mod edit: please don't post personal details on the forum]

@Crebeccag93 : Did you use that PAYG SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad? EE PAYG SIMs need 1st activating on EE's home UK network. If it wasn't you can't now use it until you return to UK.

Hi there @Crebeccag93 ,
So if I'm understanding correctly, you bought the EE sim in London, used it here in the UK and then have travelled across various countries in Europe (all working fine).
The problem statement is you're now in Spain, your phone has picked up the Orange Spain network however you're only getting 3G service in the area you're in.
The best advice would be if you're only getting 3G from Orange, do a manual network search and select Movistar. They may have 4G/5G in the area you're in.
Doesn't sound like you have an actual problem (you'll still be able to get the benefits of your package) except for the coverage you're seeing roaming on Orange.
It's nothing a manual network search won't fix for you 😀

@Crebeccag93 The issue you also face is that you’re using that roaming network and the limitations of what’s offered in the area. EE is uk only and that EE sim is now connected to what ever roaming network is available for you to use in that area. But a manual network search as @_MrR_ has recommended might give you a better network connection.

@_MrR_ : OP never said it worked in various countries in Europe before Spain; just that it was supposed to.

You're right, I've perhaps mis-read the bit about other EU countries but the complaint seems to be that they're on 3G with Orange ES
The fact they've used up 12GB of data would indicate they've used it in the UK so hopefully a network switch will sort it
