New phone

Any info would be appreciated.

I'm posted in Cyprus with the military. Just ordered an upgrade with ee which has been sent to my parents as they are coming out to visit me next week. Does the phone need to be turned on in the uk first and onto the ee network? Or could it be transported unopened then I set it all up here?

My number has stayed the same, just the phone that's been upgraded.

Thanks for any help

It certainly does if it's on PAYG. It probably does on contract. In either case you will need to buy a roaming billing add-on & for contract activate roaming from the UK.

@Chelle246   if you are using the same sim there should be no reason to do anything to the phone in the UK.

Yes, I was thinking of the SIM rather the phone.

Yeah the sims with me now with all the roaming and upgrades. Its just the handset that's new.

Thanks

Yeah the new contract has all of it so I can continue to use it while here. I'm using the sim now, it's just the phone that will be new.

Hi @Chelle246,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

You'll just need to move your SIM card into the new phone when you get it. Nothing need to be done with the phone back home.

Hope this helps.
