I would just like some advice and to make people aware of how easy it is to get ripped off by EE. They really do not care about their customers at all!
I have just returned from a visit to Israel and other middle east areas on holiday. At no point was I prompted that my calls would be charged at about £5 per minute and to recieve calls would also cost me £5 per minute.
I have returned off holiday and now they have taken £794 as my bill for two weeks. i only made about 10 calls the entire time i was there and i had no roaming facility as i could not add it on. EE have at no point made it clear that calls would be so expensive abroad and that roaming isnt possibe. I have just found out that I can add an e sim to my phone and just use a sim card abroad. why was this never explained before? because EE just emjoy ripping people off. I will go to the financial ombudsman about this and have this in the newspapers for sure!!

Sorry @Halbiggyh but not sure of your point.
Yes, calls on a mobile are expensive overseas; they tell you every time you join a new country network. Same with data.
Maybe it is the first time you have gone to another country, but hardly news or anything new.
Expensive lesson maybe, but why did you ignore the warnings?

@Halbiggyh : As it is not in EU, you would not be able to use your usual UK allowances there but would have needed to pay the charges or buy roaming add-ons as set out in https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/roaming-costs/countries/israel . It's not as high as £5 / min.
On arrival you should have receive a Welcome to the country msg detailing these charges.
The Financial Ombudsman does not regulate the telecoms industry.

I do understand your frustration at receiving a high bill however it is the customers duty to check out the costs involved before travelling, whenever I personally go away it’s better to make WhatsApp calls rather than making carrier calls.
