Did you mean:

My i phone doesn’t allow any NHS 0800 numbers to call me.

My iPhone won’t allow on NHS 0800 numbers to be connected to myself, they just ring out in there end.

I have checked my blocked number and even unblock all 0800 that I had block (none of where NHS numbers), but still can’t receive any calls...

it’s not just from one set NHS number is from various numbers from different parts of the country.

Did anyone find a fix for this?? I suspect I am having the same problem as my local hospital is unable to contact me by phone.

Called support and couldn’t find any issue from the network side. I am an iPhone X user, contemplating replacing my handset as I feel I have exhausted all other options.

Hi @Scuddah

Have you checked the list of blocked numbers on your device?

Chris

Hi Chris, yes I’ve checked blocked numbers and it only contains blocked spammers that I have previously reported.

Thanks for checking, @Scuddah.

Is it one specific number that you're having problems receiving calls from? Or is it all 0800 numbers?

Chris

I suspect several as I know more than one nhs department has tried to contact me, but given that I have no log of attempted calls that I have missed its impossible to know. I’ve left them alternative means of contacting me so I hope once I finally get my appointment rescheduled I can do some trouble shooting with them when i’m in hospital, but needless to say this is a fairly big deal for me and if I can’t figure out how to solve it then I’m going to have to consider handset & carrier change out, I can’t go on missing calls from the nhs.

I did a fair amount of googling re this both on EE and apple support sites  last night and I wander whether it’s a VoLTE issue. I’ve turned it off so see if that helps…but obviously that comes with drawbacks and I’m dependent on the good grace of my support team at the nhs to react to yet another left voicemail and attempt to call me back to even find out if it’s sorted in the first place.

I understand, @Scuddah.

We won't know whether that's fixed it until they try to call again, which I understand isn't a great experience.

It may be worth speaking to the Technical Support team to see if there is anything else they can try.

Chris

Thanks Chris, I did speak to one of your colleagues in tech support yesterday and we came to a similar conclusion that until I can do some form of testing there isn’t anything else I can do but wait and provide alternative means of contact. When I saw this thread and it noted that it was solved I thought I had finally found a solution, but alas no. We did discuss going through call logs to see if they had been registered at all with ee but without a known failed attempted we agreed it would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

I’ll post feedback once I’ve either had a successful call (ie it is some VoLTE issue, everything else I checked was fairly standard things) or have been able to provide the date/time of an unsuccessful call to tech support for further investigation.
I appreciate your effort in trying to help.

Thanks for the update @Scuddah

James

I got contacted and asked them to try another test call to my mobile and can confirm that having VoLTE off made no difference at all. The call they made went straight to voicemail and said I was unavailable…I checked voicemail, I have no messages.

Tech support have reset my network settings in an attempt to fix the issue. I can’t ask nurses to drop what they are doing to try calling me again today but will ask them when I’m in hospital at the end of the month…if it’s not successful then I am to re-contact support for further troubleshooting by calling from a landline so they can do further testing with my phone. Will update at the end of the month.

Did you manage to solve this as I’m having exactly the same issue and really concerning as like you I can’t miss these health calls.
if solved what did you do ?
many thanks.
and I hope your health is improving.
