I am currently in the USA and I'm traveling alone. I have lost my phone and EE sim. I have ordered a new EE sim to where I am staying in the hope of transferring my number too it. The issue is all my banking and various other services need to use my EE phone number for security codes etc as I'm abroad and on an unknown device.
Instant messaging EE on there site would be the best option but as other have already said there button to enter chat never appears.
I have no way to call currently as I'm with out a phone. I've managed to order a new phone and if I really have to I will get an American carrier sim just so I can ring EE customer services but this will cost a lot and seem pointless as I could just speak with someone online.
I high light the main issue is I need my EE number back for access to vital services while traveling and I understand for security this may have to be done over the phone.
Any info appreciated

No I have not been able to inform EE it is lost due to not having a phone to ring them off. I was unaware I could call using Skype but I will do this now if the lines are open, or as soon as they are.
I actually got a friend to get me an EE sim in the UK and mail it, won't be here for another few days at least. I was hoping once I speak with EE I can get my contact and old number assigned to the sim.
Just an EE sim you can buy over the counter at a shop. Will this not work?
I will try the Skype call.
Thanks and any more info would be great. Being in another country and not having a phone in this day and age is problematic.
thanks again

As you didn't order a replacement SIM you're gonna have a rigmarole keeping your no.
EE won't port nos between its contracts. So you need to 1st port your existing no to another network's PAYG using a PAC from EE & then in reverse port it back to your new contract. This will also have the effect of cancelling your old contract.
You could alternatively move your old contract to PAYG with 30 days notice & then ask EE to transfer the no to your new contract.

Indeed so - and whilst all of the steps advised "should" work abroad, there is additional scope for things to go wrong.
And if they do - one of the first bits of advice will be to re-attempt from EE's home UK network.
