Hi! 
I am currently abroad and need to make a call back to the UK. It says „This connection is barred for the requested destination“. Does anyone know how to resolve this?

@Cels1 : You're not making International Calls. Such are only made from UK. You are roaming.

Can you use data & send texts?

Are you on contract or PAYG? Had you used that SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad?

If you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming billing add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c. Having roaming activated on your EE a/c, not just on your device, is crucial to using your contract SIM abroad.

Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto.

Otherwise if you are on contract you need to call CS to get your roaming activated. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. on Skype over WiFi. It should be free.

Thanks for your quick reply. I am on a contract and use this SIM everyday in the UK. I am abroad now and need to call someone in the UK with my UK number but that doesnt work. I can use the internet/whatsapp but I cant sent text on the messanger app/SMS it says „not delivered“. I also didnt turn on the „roaming“ before leaving the UK. When I try to send „roam“ to 150 the message cant be sent. Do you know if there is a solution other than contacting CS?

No, there's only 2 ways to have roaming enabled on your a/c:

1. Text ROAMING to 150 while in UK, not from abroad. You didn't do this in UK & now you can't from abroad.
2. Call CS to enable it for you. This remains your only avenue.
