I’ve had two calls recently where the caller has advised they’ve had an international dial tone when calling me, making it look like I’m abroad.
I’ve been at home on both occasions connected to WiFi calling.
Any idea why this is happening?

I have spoken to EE about this today. they have told me that they and other mobile phone companies are in the process of updating their systems and the the tone will sound like its from abroad from now on at no extra cost. they said it will effect most people. Maybe some techy from EE could explain better, but its not something to worry about apparently

I'm not sure about the explanation - well-intentioned more than technically accurate, but I agree that it's not affecting service.
Thanks for the post.

I’m having the same issue with callers telling me I have an international dial tone

Also have the same problem since Sunday. I'm on Utility warehouse that uses the EE network.
IPhone 14, wifi calling on and off, different locations.
Happens on incoming calls from iphone and android on o2 and Vodafone.
I can't find anything else on this topic I find it very strange!
