Garbled incoming audio

I have a problem with the audio on incoming calls. The person calling me sounds garbled, like they are under water, blowing bubbles. However, if I call them I can hear them fine. I have a Samsung S10. I would appreciate any help to understand if this is an issue with my service or my phone. Many thanks.

Hi @Viper007 @Nick2d @Christopher_G @James_B @bristolian Is it always incoming calls only and from landlines only - it is for me.

It certainly seems to be all makes ie Samsung, iPhone and even iMac, so it's not the handsets. Has anyone heard of this problem with any other network ? Ifnot, it must be an EE issue.

Location wise, we are in Lichfield, Staffs - how about everyone else ? Just rough location to see if it is a particular mast or area ?

If this is nationwide, the press might be interested in the story (which may make EE take notice).

I don't have a different phone, but as this problem is we know that this is affecting many different phones there doesn't seem to be much to be gained from putting my SIM in a different phone ? My wife has a different phone and different SIM and the same problem - same as everyone else on this forum.

Hi @ANC54 .

From my experience yes, it is only incoming calls from landlines. I use my mobile for my business and have received calls from many clients on their mobiles over the last few days, all without any issues.

Location wise I live near Southampton.

I thought the same regarding the press, as clearly this is a larger problem that we are probably aware of.

North Kent for me and still experiencing it today from some mobile incoming calls as well as some landlines.

Hi @Nick2d

Thanks and my 90 yr old mother-in-law is only 45 miles away in Bordon and only has a landline. As we only have mobiles, we cannot hear her when she rings and we always have to ring back.

Having said that, we have had landline calls from Birmingham that are affected (NHS hospital !).

Will see what other loocations are mentioned here and then consider next move.

Hi @ANC54 .

I am in a similar situation with my 76 year old mum, who only has a landline and has diabetes which has put her in A&E twice in the last year.

Once we have collated everyone's experiences perhaps each of us posting on Twitter and Facebook with the same headline, but with our name, location and phone brand, may at least make EE realise this is a wider problem worth investigating further. They may genuinely not be aware of the scope.

Hi @Nick2d

Great idea ! I'm quite ancient but could manage this if some could suggest headlines etc.

Also, @MarkB731 is experiencing the problem with some mobile incoming calls too, so may not just be landlines.

Hi @MarkB731

Thanks - do you know which network the incoming mobile calls are from, just in case we can pin it on a specific network ?

Sky are where I am experiencing the issue, O2 appears ok. My landline is also with sky and I get the issue from my landline to my mobile
