Fast lane full works plus on simonly

How to upgrade to full works plus from full works?

It adds the fast lane so you can get normal 5G speeds. On the cheap full works you only get acess to the lowest speed 5G but I don't see a way to upgrade if you don't need to buy a handset. Has anyone found a way to upgrade to EE's new Full Works Plus plan as a SIM-only customer can I just pay for the add on? Since my phone already fully supports it. My line will get even slower now I am at the back of the queue?

Or is it best to get a second unlimited sim from another carrier who don't throttle for times of network congestion?

HI @investigate

The Fast Lane is built to support customers in congested areas such as stadiums, concerts, or undergrounds. Essentially, customers on a Fast Lane will have their connection prioritised versus customers on a standard network connection.

Fast Lane isn't currently available to purchase separately. It's only included in the Full Works Plus plan. I'd recommend giving customer service a call on 150 to see if you're eligible for a standard mid-contract plan change to be moved onto a Full Works plan without signing up to a new contract.

Isn't this the exact problem that I am already on Full Works, but Full Works Plus won't be available to me? Full Works Plus as a handset-only plan. Unless I sign a new hardware contract to buy a phone from EE. I don't need to do that. Maybe customer service will have a workaround?

And in 2 years time.... or whenever EE marketing think of the next money-spinning extra.... Full Works Mega, for when Full Works Plus just isn't enough.

Fast Lane... how to make extra revenue from congested sites rather than investing in resolving the congestion. A cynical view perhaps, but if there was no truth in it, then why create the product in the first place?

I appreciate not every capacity increase is straightforward, but I've gotta give it to marketing - creating a two-tier service and making it sound a good idea. Next step, make sure the network testing firms have access to Fast Lane Plus/Mega-enabled SIM.....
