We have 4 EE android mobile phones in the same property. All up to the required standard for mobile alerts.
One received the alert as planned, one had a notification icon to say something was received but made no sounds and had to be unlocked to see the alert. 2 had nothing. All in the same house, none in airplane mode, all active EE sims, all have signal, noone opted out.
What went wrong?

What version of Android are they on?
I received the alert 3PM today unexpectedly! I understood you need to be on at least Android 11 but I received it on Android 9 🙂 .

@Nodrog49 Was it ? Just to check you do have the option enabled on the device?

No, there is no enabling option on my Android, yet I did receive it altho' I'm not supposed to.

@XRaySpeX it’s said to be android 11 or higher but it also states you still might receive it on early versions of android.

Same happened to me. Phone was on silent mode but alerts not switched off. Had no alert and message despite 3 other people in the house receiving it. What a wash out. Complete ineptitude again with this government. Will obviously have to rely on my daughter and son in law who are in sky mobile to inform me of impeding disaster.

Both my EE work iPhone and Android devices received the message.
Thanks

Thanks, @Chris_B . Yes, it does say that but it also goes on to say:
If you have an earlier version of Android, you may still be able to receive alerts. To check, search your device settings for ‘emergency alerts’.
But my Android 9 has no Setting for ‘Emergency Alerts’. So I never expected to receive it.

I had the same problem. Have a new iPhone 13 mini and my alerts are turned on and I did not receive the alert. My husband got an alert on his phone (same model and also with EE).
