Looked to enter the EE Xmas competition but didn’t want to sign up to the mailing list. It noted you could text 1107 instead at the end. I did this and it didn’t send for both words.
I do not have an EE phone, but EE internet. There is not clarity if this is only for EE phones.
Under GDPR you can not force entrants to join a mailing list as a condition of entry, so currently the competition goes against GDPR regulations without the text number being available.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

You have to be on the EE mobile network to text to 4-digit short codes like that.

Hi
Just tried this on the competition number 1107. I don’t have an ee phone, but have ee internet.
Both words bounced back. Seems a bit of a scam that I HAD to tick for the marketing which is against policy!

The post you'd replied to was over 4years old, you also mention not having an EE phone.
Can you advise what your query is, and what EE service it relates to?

Hello @Eatinin.
Thanks for coming here.
Please could you provide a screen grab of the text message you have received?
