EE WiFi Auto London Underground won't automatically login

I have saved the EE Wi-Fi Auti for the London Underground as a network, I have the SIM setup as the login, but every time the train pulls into a station I have to manually select EE Wi-Fi Auto and connect. When it first connects it says internet not available and then there is a ! by the signal icon and it says connected internet not available. Then it connects, usually as the train is pulling out of the station. My partner does not have any of this problem with her phone, it is a pixel 5. Mine is a pixel 6 pro, both on the most recent version of Android, and both seem to have all the same settings. Mine is on auto connect, and is set up exactly as per the instructions on the EE website. Any ideas why it won't just auto connect?

Regrettably that's not true though, I stood in a tube station on the phone to them for 40 minutes, only to be told that there was nothing they could do.

Did they ask you to try anything on the device or raise a support ticket? @Jamesup

Leanne.

The first call we went through settings (all fine, but most of these settings are locked at network side) and they resent  connection profile data. They I had to call again from a station, and it was still not working. They put me on hold to talk to the tier 2 team. The Tier 2 team eventually told them 'can't do anything', it felt like a profound waste of my time.

I am very sorry to hear this @Jamesup

I would suggest calling us again to see if this can be looked into further.

Leanne.

No, I'm waiting for my contract to end and them I'm leaving, unless something happens to fix it.

The problem is - as you can see from the many people who share it - not about my settings or phone, it's something network side and so far EE have refused to do anything about it.

Same. This problem started almost 6 months ago, and EE have done nothing about it and shown no interest in fixing. So not only have I been paying for a service that I’ve not been getting, they even put prices up by c. 15%! Who got a pay rise like that this year?
It’s a shockingly poor, rent-extracting company.

Hi @Jamesup when you say 'it is working' what do you mean?

I can log in no problem, I have always been able to. But back in the day it would seemlessly auto connect as I rolled into a station - it does not do that any more. I think it is important to make the point that it is not the connection, but the auto re-connection at different stations.

Is yours auto logging back in quickly whenever you enter a station? If so, huzzah!

I walked into Liverpool Street, and after a minute or so I was connected automatically, without me doing anything, just as it used to. I was in the exact spot I tested before when I called tech support and it didn't work before. I updated to 16.4 last night. Will have to check some other stations to be sure.

Awesome. Yeah, would be great to find out if it is good for you 'in motion' also

I'm 100% sure it isn't a mobile OS issue as it doesn't re-connect on my Android, but does on my partners - same phone, same version

I'm wagering it is a setting, somewhere...
