Hello @Sarahevs79 ,

Welcome to the community,

Did you enable roaming on your account? This you would have needed to do if on monthly contract before going abroad.

Pay as you go would be enabled.

Have you tried a manual search for network?

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

@Sarahevs79     Purchasing add ons doesn’t enable roaming these are different things.    The amount of allowance your tariff gives you is not relative to this.  Plus you can only use 50Gb of your unlimited data allowance when abroad per month.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

So what is the answer to the query? How can someone make calls??

Hi @SarahM85,

Before going abroad you need to text ROAMING to 150 to enable it for your pay monthly sim.

Thanks,
Alex

@SarahM85

Yes if you're calling the UK from greece you can call 0044 instead of the 0.
You can also just do +44 using the + button on the phone's keypad.

For example instead of 01234 567 890 you can just dial:

  • +441234 567 890
  • 00441234 567 890

Both should work 😊

Thanks,
Alex

Many problems with making calls whilst abroad can also be resolved by manually changing to a different local network - or toggling flight mode.

If that fails to clear, then changing the dialling code as suggested, is a good part of troubleshooting.
