I called on ee 24 hours contact number from google search after speak with customer service (this number 08448738586) 31 minutes it charged me £20.77 +£2.50. That’s ridiculous, there wasn’t anywhere mention about charges and after calling the number it didn’t say anything about charges. Anyone can help that if i can avoid the charges from upcoming bills. What should i do!

@Mhsefat  There isn’t. 24 hours number.   You can call if you need to report a device lost/stolen and that’s 24 hours other that that you have to wait for opening hours

Silly question but you searched for a 24 hour number where does it say that’s a 24 hour number ?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Hi there @Mhsefat

Thanks for coming to the community.

Were you not able to call 150 from your phone at the time?  I am sorry, 0844 numbers aren't included within your allowance and this would be chargeable.

If you can use the numbers on our contact us page there is an 0800 number if you need to call us from another phone.

Thanks.

Leanne.

Why did you choose to call the chargeable 0844 no. when you could have called the alternative Freephone 0800 no.?

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP
I didn’t know about the charges. I called EE earlier and they said they will waive this bill for this time but it still not updated on my bill. So now i know about the charges besides my Cap was £0 from the beginning.

You should be aware for future reference, that the spend cap won't fully protect you against charges for 084 or 087 numbers - it only limits the access charge element.

The service charge element of these calls is not affected by the spend cap - you can read further details here

That 0844 number is not a genuine number for EE.

There are some organisations providing 08 and 09 numbers when you Google service providers and other organisations.

For example I googled HMRC and a company was advertising an 09 number.

The company is just cashing in on the revenue share providing the connection to the service you require.

It was actually made illegal for companies to offer 084,087 and 09 numbers for customer services which is why the 03 range was opened up.

EE has a range of numbers for you to use:

150 free from the EE phone

08009566000 free from another phone

08454125000 which comes out of inclusive minutes for some landline users and some mobile add ons but usually has an access charge per minute and a service charge of around 10p per minute.

07953966250 from a non-EE mobile with inclusive minutes

Next time you want to look for numbers I suggest you go to www.118500.com which is the free BT phone book online with genuine numbers and is free, calling 118500 though is charged at a premium rate.

So the company providing these 08 and 09 numbers have scammed you, EE is not at fault here, it is completely out of EE's hands.

I know one of the sites is called Find Customer service numbers and another is called Customer services department offering all different premium rate numbers for companies and organisations most of which have freephone 0800/0808 numbers anyway.

Ah! The old Orange/EE broadband number, when had Orange/EE broadband back in 2012, calls from your EE home phone to an 0844 customer service number was free.

I completely forgot about this number.

EE should take down these old links and pages.

Sorry for the incorrect information

@nick_ro     Just to point out it’s also a 084 number and not checking to see if you’ll be charged is a user problem not an EE problem.   And calling the first number you find just because you asked Google a question doesn’t mean you should call that number, especially when you actually read that page and it says 150 from your device.

and I’m pretty sure the question asked wasn’t the first question but the response from the first question wasn’t what the user wanted to see.

ee customer service times  was probably the original question asked.
