Change how many times the phone rings before it goes to answer phone

Hi

How are youse?

Not like the other topics, ... this is the correct code to type into your phone to get the ringer to ring for different amounts of time before going to answer phone;

**61*07123456789*#xx*

Then Press The Call Button On Some Phones after typing the above code.

where "07123456789" = your mobile number

"xx" = the time durantion in 5 second incriments "5" being minimum 5 seconds. Not sure of maximum, use to be 30 seconds.

e.g. **61*07123456789*#30* call button

makes the call ring for 30 seconds before going to answer phone.

Hope that helps.

@Christopher_G thanks for the reply.

yes i think mines 20 seconds.

How are they lengthened or shortened then?

You could try speaking to our technical support team, @osmildmay. I'm not aware of a way, other than typing in the GSM code, to lengthen the ringing time.

You could turn off the voicemail completely by texting VM OFF to 150. This will allow the phone to keep ringing till it is answered, but there would be no way for anyone to leave you a voicemail.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the reply and question.

Yes my phones rings for 20 seconds then goes to answer machine.

I've tried the codes I suggested and the phone says "accepted" but does not increase the ring time?

Any help if you know more I think would be appreciated ?

Kind Regards, and Merry Christmas and New Year Wishes,

Oliver

That 20 seconds is the standard, @osmildmay. If the code doesn't work for you, there is no other way to lengthen the ringing tone apart from removing the voicemail completely.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news about that.

I hope you have a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year too. 🙂

Chris

Hi @Christopher_G

Thanks for the reply.

I would have though some accounts can have longer ringtones, so it must be possible to lengthen.

I'll call customer services some time maybe, and ask for a support technical ticket, as the technical team maybe be able to raise it to 30 seconds possibly.

Thanks and hope you have a nice new year too and a Merry Christmas.
