Hi @-Andy_50

Are you PAYG or pay monthly contract?

Can you check that international calls and text and roaming is activated on your account.

Thanks

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone. You can call Freephone +44 800 079 8586 on Skype

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

SIM card only pay monthly. Data roaming is switched on

Everything on app you mentioned is saying blocked. Why is this if I took out the plan?

@-Andy_50 , I have this, and before I went away, I rang customer service to make sure roaming was enabled, as it always has been, it just shows blocked on mine, but was OK when abroad.

You will have to ring customer service to get this sorted, if you cannot enable it yourself,  you can do so by clicking on the contact us and you will find a free number you can ring using something like Skype, hope this helps,

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

@-Andy_50   Have you restarted the device since you got there ?

I suspect this is the known issue with US networks turning off 3G. Until the UK networks support VoLTE roaming, and you have a handset that supports VoLTE roaming, you may have issues with calls in places like the US. The workaround is to use T-Mobile and 2G for calls, but if that's not available, you can't do anything.

Three have confirmed they have VoLTE roaming live, Vodafone confirmed it's coming later this year. Waiting for EE and O2 to confirm.

You will also need a supported handset, most likely something like an iPhone, Pixel or Samsung. On older handsets with slower firmware updates it may not work.

As an example, Google rolled out VoLTE roaming this month to Pixel phones. Now it's up to the home and roaming networks to support it.

It could easily be one of 2 issues here..

1: VoLTE/IMS-roaming is currently a grey area as already mentioned.

2: I don't see confirmation in this thread that "call abroad & premium rate" has been enabled.. this could be the website-bug, but is something that only EE C/S can confirm either way.

Hi all,

at present checked on EE app and shows roaming blocked but when I change it it reverts back even though I purchased the add on.

@-Andy_50 ,it has nothing to do with the add-on. As I wrote, if you cannot enable roaming, call abroad and premium rate, you will have to ring customer service to enable this, but will have to wait until the UK morning time, as there is no one there now, as it past their opening times. Just because you added an add on does not mean roaming will be enabled.
