I'm in Germany on holiday and have a UK EE mobile phone contract. I haven't activated any roaming add-ons and don't use it to make calls.
If my friend calls me from the UK, on their UK mobile phone, will I be charged anything extra to answer the call? I know if I make calls I will face charges, but I can't find the answer about receiving calls and especially with the UK/EU being handled differently in some cases post-Brexit I cannot find the answer.

@MyBoy : Are you on contract or PAYG?
If you are on contract you will not even be able to receive the call unless you had texted ROAMING to 150 before you left UK to ensure roaming is enabled on your account.
In both cases you will be charged to receive the call.

Where are these charges detailed? I found https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/roaming/roaming-costs/countries/germany
Depending whether I have the add-on it seems to be saying UK is part of the EE zone (like pre Brexit EU?) and so calls are included either for free or included in the £2.29 daily surcharge (I don't recall exactly when the contract started)

You're looking at at right place. I'll assume you are on contract as you're looking at its Pay Monthly page.
So, yes, it's either:
