Hi @Gailcupcake.

Welcome to the community.

Do you recognise this place?

Can you see if you've been charged in any way for calling this number?

Did you have a new voicemail?

Jon

Hi Jon

It came up like this (pic above) but it did take me to my mailbox where I did have the correct voice message. I rang myself last night & left a message then the text came through as 22288 & it was OK when I clicked on the number must just be to do with 87.

Don't think I've been charged anything

Thanks

Gail

Thanks @Gailcupcake.

I'd recommend keeping an eye on the charges to make sure you aren't charged.

If you receive any more messages let us know, but you can call your standard voicemail number to listen to a voicemail if you need to.

I had same thing happen with 22287 , but have since had a bill and so far no charge made. It looks like there is a blip with no87 messages.

Hi David @ EE.

Can you check mine. I’ve just had what I believe is a bogus text message as I went to my voice mail (hold down 1) and there was no new message?
It reads:

A Voicemail message from +447970544712 was left for you at 11:20 on 12/09. Please call 222 to listen to it before it is automatically deleted.

Also, any idea why every couple of months my phone decides to stop ringing and go direct to voicemail?

Hi @NickA-M

Welcome to the community.

Have you got the number in your phone contacts?

When your phone goes straight to voicemail are you in the same area every time this happens?

Katie

Tis weird. I have had a few of those - never responded. Always from the same number.
and I have visual voice mail. It doesn’t come up on that and I never have a missed call.
I work on the principle if it looks dodge, feels dodge - it’s probably dodge.

Whilst a valid approach, I don't see what any scammer would have to gain by asking you to call 222 - your voicemail number.

If the text message listed a premium-rate or chargeable 084/087 number, then that would ring many alarm bells.
