222 is your voicemail number

When someone leaves a voicemail a text is sent to you and then a quick number in your case 22287 is there so you can call to go straight to that number.

87 shows you have had 87 voicemails to date on this account.

It would have started at 22201 then 02 03 04 and so on. These are quick links basically to that particular voicemail. If you have deleted the voicemail or it automatically deleted these links won't work anymore but the number will keep going up until it reaches 100 then it will start again at 01.

Hi @JasonmUK

Welcome to the EE Community,

222 is your voicemail service which is free to call.

Thanks,

David.

I pressed the 22287 link in the text and it started calling somewhere called Pinchos Bar

The phone number shown in your screeenshot above, 023 93876082, is a standard landline number in Southampton/Portsmouth area.

023 is the area code for Southampton & Portsmouth, which is +44 23 in international format.

As David has pointed out, 222 (or +44 7953 222222 as it's sometimes displayed) is the EE voicemail service.

Yes, when it's dialled from your phone, but not necessarily when it's clicked as a link in a msg.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

True, but clicking the link in a genuine EE voicemail notification has always been safe - I've just tried this as a test from a relative's phone and the callback number was "22255"

If you're not sure as to whether a voicemail is genuine, then just calling 222 or speed-dial 1 is the safest method.

I also had a text saying had a voice message and to press 22287 which zi did. Was a genuine message from my garage. But my call register is coming up as having called Pinchos Bar

Thank you Brendon. I just wonder why my phone thought instead of my 87 the voice message it had called Pincho Bar  - just like Jason’s87 voice mail essage

Thats what i was curious about also, the fact that "Pinchos Bar" came up on the call log
