Hi @Booksginbeaches

Are you aware if you activated roaming before leaving the UK?

This could be done by texting ROAMING to 150?

Katie

Hi Katie
I was not told that I had to do that when I spoke to the EE chap. If i
activate roaming will I get charged 2.50 per day for it because im here for
3 weeks and it become expensive ? Please let me know. Thank you for
replying to me. I need to keep in touch with my elderly mother that's why
I wanted the texts.

Hi @Booksginbeaches

There is no pass for Thailand so you won't be charged the £2.29 per day.

You will be charged local rates unless you have an add-on to cover texts or calls.

Local rates can be found HERE.

If you have not activated roaming before leaving the UK our customer care team will be able to help activate this for you.

I am unable to get in touch with EE as I can't send a text or call.  I need to email them but can't find email address. Thank you for replying.  Sounds like the chap did not give me all the info I needed.  When I used to get off a plane my phone would connect to a network but not anymore.

Hi @Booksginbeaches

Do you have access to social media? our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter teams have access to activate this for you.

Katie

Thank you Katie.

You have chosen a billing add-on, but still need to enable the roaming facility in order for your phone to connect to foreign networks. Without this, you won't have coverage outside the UK - and thus be unable to do any activity reliant on network service, which prevents calls, texts & use of mobile data.

If you have access to WiFi, you can use a web-calling app such as Skype to contact EE CS and request your roaming facility is enabled.

EE provide no email contact.

Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. on Skype over WiFi. It should be free.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

I am trying to contact them via Facebook but I don't know how long it will take its 0029 hrs. I don't know if I will be charged roaming per day if i am they can refund me as i wasn't told that.  The chap I spoke to didn't mention doing anything else with my phone.  Thanks for your help.
