Hi @eastcoastuk1,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

Are you able to make outbound calls?

James

Hi James Thank you for reaching out. I've noticed today there is no signal showing on the mobile phone I'm currently using Wifi through BT and the phone is working on that.

Previous to the above I was able to send and receive Text messages so I assume it was going through the Router.

Hi @eastcoastuk1,

So to confirm, you can make and receive calls when using WiFi Calling?

Does the Network Status Checker show any problems in your area?

James

Hi James Yes I can receive and make calls through WiFi Calling, The signal indicator on the mobile is showing no signal. When I check the Network status it comes up as Device not found? the signal has progressively got worse, I have a sim only deal which started 7 only weeks ago

Hi @eastcoastuk1,

What type of phone are you using?

James

ive been on the phone to EE for days about this exact same problem.  Everything been reset, nothing being forwarded etc.  At times it also take 20 secs or more to phone out.  Apparently its nothing to do with the network and my phone...

they are sending me a new sim as apparently they only last a few years and mine is 5 years old in my iphone 12.

In all honesty i think its a network issue and nothing to do with handset but we shall see.

the funniest part was EE tried to call me back a few hours after resets to see if it was working. they got sent straight to voicemail 😉

hi @andyh100

you write "they [incoming calls] go straight to voicemail"

many phone owners dont actually know how to check their voicemail "ring time" settings, which will be between 5 - 30 seconds on the EE network.

you may find my simple guide posted here useful:

https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/Mobile-Services/How-To-Extend-Ring-Time-Before-A-Call-Diverts-To-Voice...

you also mention an issue with older SIMs.

looking into this, i discovered older phones can be "refurbished" by simply shutting down the unit, removing your SIM and cleaning it [gold part] with a cotton bud dipped in a drop of alcohol cleaner (such as cheap window cleaning solution). you may also find blowing into the vacant SIM slot (on your phone) removes dust from the internal SIM contacts, so a better SIM-phone connection is obtained.

hopefully, your new SIM will solve your issues. 👍

pls post back here and let us know the outcome if you wish.

regards OldSchoolTech.

There is nothing inherently wrong with an older SIM if it still functions.

sorry the link you provide for changing ring time for voicemail is a dead link.  Can you send another one?
