poor audio quality on EE network.

Since moving from Plusnet I get terrible audio telephone quality with EE, regardless of where i am calling or being called from. The calls don't drop, but half of my speech is missing, making each call impossible and i have to revert to other devices. I do not believe the problem is with my phone, as whatsapp telephone calls are good quality, proving that the device mic and speakers are functioning. I tried to log a problem with EE, but find their text service overly complicated. I tried to email them tonight, but discover they are closed and don't seem to accept email. Any suggestions, or should i simply jump to another service provider?

Does your phone show VoLTE (Android) or 4G-calling (Apple) when on voice calls? Audio should be clear if so.

Your phone may be falling back to 2G for calls if not, and this could certainly explain poor audio issues.
