Over the past 3-4 months I've been having significant issues with signal. Phone is reporting a pretty good signal, 2-4 bars usually, 4G (have 5G off on my phone). Same with the wife's phone... both phones reporting signal... but no data at all, phone calls not reliable if they connect but often do not connect.
It happens in several areas that I travel to... all about 50-100 miles apart and last week we went further afield to Longleat Safari Park, great signal reported on device, absolutely no chance of making anything work on our phones, about 20 minutes away from Longleat at the end of the day, both my wife and I started to get the notifications pouring through for the day.
This issue is confirmed by checking on the EE checker for each location I have an issue, it confirms there is a network issue, lets you subscribe to updates on the issue, which you get for 24-48 hours... then no more updates, it's not that the issue is solved... they just stop sending you updates so you have to keep signing up for the notifications on the issue, which never gets solved.
Anyone else experiencing such situations?

Having slower data speeds with good indicated coverage indicates congestion and/or heavy data load on that site, not of itself a fault but I would expect it to be more localised than what you describe.
Voice calls failing is another issue - are you able to use mobile data whilst on calls? They shouldn't fail to connect, but poor audio is indicative of the call dropping to 2G and not remaining on VoLTE (4G-voice)
I've always got "issue resolved" updates from the status tool when faults are closed.

They're not congested areas (apart from Longleat I suppose, but wasn't working there from quite early before it got busy), mostly smallish towns/villages. Certainly not heavy load areas.
The areas where the issues are had previously worked for several years just great. Mostly waiting in the car whilst kids are in clubs and things. Consistently don't work now.
It's almost like the mast is working fine but someone cut the fibre to the thing, great signal but cannot do anything.
Never ever seen "issue resolve", registered for over 50 sets of updates.

As an aside, if the incoming comms to a site fail - the site goes off-air completely. But I (think I) understand the symptoms you're trying to explain.
I've experienced similar symptoms previously, which turned out to be a faulty device post-repair. This doesn't explain why two phones have the same issue, though. I can think of some possible causes, but these are more instinctive than evidenced.
Think you need to rule one of your variables out, by comparing with another "unaffected" EE user in a location you have issues.

I've talked to other parents whilst waiting for our kids to finish the clubs they're in... if they're on EE they say the same thing, couldn't access anything. Even EE admit to their being a problem, they let me subscribe to updates to it.
Was just wondering if just very localised, to me/the wife/our area. But when it happened much further away at Longleat, couldn't be a co-incidence.
Been with EE for probably a decade or something, as long as I can remember anyway, always been great, just this last few months I'm being let down in a few situations, not being able to rely on it is a big problem.
Guess I'll just register for updates again... where they will just stop sending me them and never say issue resolved.
