Starting VPN kills Internet connection

Since Thursday PM my internet connection gets killed off almost every time that i login to our FortiClient6.0 VPN -  it very occasionally holds for 10 to fifteen minutes - My signal is fine with 23Mb Down and 7Mb up when not connected to VPN.

I am connecting through a 4GEE mifi but similar behaviour is appearing when tethered to my mobile hotspot - any ideas?
