Signal strength and now no texts

Okay I'll start off by making something clear, I've been a loyal EE customer for well over a decade now and I'm in no way jumping on the 'EE hate train', I'm just curious as to the issue with poor signal strength as it seems to be rife across the board now regardless of area? I've always had great customer service from EE and they are actively monitoring my signal issues but aside from them periodically carrying out work in my area, they couldn't find any other issue that should be causing my poor signal? The most I've ever had was 2 bars and that was only once or twice throughout my 2 year contract, it's usually 1 bar or none at all which is frustrating. I really don't want to have to change supplier because of something like this. I don't even mind paying more for a contract every month as their great customer service gives me peace of mind but I do mind when I'm not able to use my phone properly. Has anyone else had this issue and it be resolved? I did all the steps that were suggested and nothing changed. I'm due to either cancel my contract or upgrade so I'm unsure at this point what to do. Have been unable to get a hold of anyone from EE to discuss this. As of today, I can now no longer text anyone either, i keep getting the EE 0 ERROR and again, troubleshooting online and nothing worked. Any suggestions/condolences would be much appreciated! 🥹

@WillowTree  Is this signal issue the same for anyone else on EE in this area ?     Can I ask is this indoors or outside?   And is this one in this one location or is this every location you go to.  Say 5 miles away from this location.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

The  onscreen signal bars are only a rough indicator, and there's nothing inherently wrong with "only" having 1 bar - it is indicated coverage.

Aside from the text message error, are you having any problems using your phone as a result of the perceived coverage levels?

No clue about anyone else as no one else in household is with EE and as far as forums go it's never my area, but as I said I have been advised by EE to check the status and occasionally there has been works being done here. It seems to be indoors mostly, when I'm outside (and away from my current area) the signal strength seems okay (okay being 2 bars consistently). I used to live like 5mins from my current address and don't ever remember having any signal issues there, inside or out, I think it seems to be my current house that's the issue 🥲

I didn't say there was anything wrong with having 1 bar, i just expected a stronger signal, but if having 1 bar consistently meant I could use my phone, I wouldn't mind, the issue I'm facing is having one bar that constantly drops and i have no signal at all, even when no work is supposedly being done in my area. Aside from texts and calls, i haven't noticed any other issues with using the phone

What are the issues you're having with calls, texts or data?

You can use WiFi-calling anytime you have indoor coverage issues for whatever reason, and that allows use of your phone for calls & texts without needing recourse to mobile network service. By posting on this forum I presume you have broadband access.

Calls placed over WiFi-calling & 4G-calling will seamlessly swap between each other as necessary.

I do have broadband and for the most part, at least lately, WiFi seems to be okay. I did used to have WiFi calling turned on but have checked and its currently off and I'm wondering if I've done that when we were having major issues with our WiFi (and probably to conserve battery at some point too id imagine)

The texts were displaying the EE 0 error and calls weren't connecting so as soon as i tried calling it would immediately hang up. I have tested the texts today though and they seem to be going fine and I've received texts back. Calls are fine too but when they werent sending, it didn't appear to be a signal issue and everything else worked fine so ive no idea 🥲 hopefully just a little blip. I get my new phone tomorrow though so I'll make sure I have WiFi calling enabled on that one!
