Good luck finding a concrete answer!

Most commonly these are sent when there's a large scale rollout of a new service - such as when VoLTE was first launched. Or sometimes when something is changed on your specific account, such as enabling VoNR/5GSA (to cite one obvious example)

I've a feeling these are also sent when CS do a "network refresh" which is a remedy to various gremlins.

Yes, odd. As I checked & cannot see anything/ what has changed. I had thought it might be Apple satellite messaging but is not that.
It’s a shame they don’t say. As hardly great news if I don’t see what it is.
thanks,

@Clever_Trevor , if it is an IPhone, then it is a network update and that requires a reboot. Apple are the only ones that have updates for IOS version, which you would see  either by clicking on settings, general and then updates, or there is a sign on settings to let you know, not EE, as they will just let you know that your network has an update which requires you to reboot.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

Hi @Clever_Trevor

It can often be something that you don't notice as some of the updates will just be for products or part of the service in the background but need the phone to be updated and restarted to fully take effect.
