My friend is on EE and his signal is so awful at the moment that I'm researching this for him.
He moves around a lot but wherever he is, the phone just keeps cutting off or becomes distorted.
He has been to the EE shop, they have reset the network settings have cleaned the SIM card.
This has not made any difference.
What should he do now? It's becoming impossible for him to run his business.

It's no surprise that cleaning the SIM has made no difference.
Does VoLTE show on your friend's phone screen when they have call problems?

Hi @SharonW67
Have you checked EE network status checker:
https://coverage.ee.co.uk/coverage/ee
Could be one of a thousand issues or no issue rather expectations are higher than the service delivered.
EE do not guarantee a signal everywhere all the time.
Thanks

I’m not sure. I will ask. Had to google it myself to find out what it means? If he has it turned on, should he turn it off or vice versa?

We appreciate that the signal isn’t always good and as I said, he moves around a lot. Sometimes he does get a good service. But often when he is calling someone, the quality can be perfect for a few minutes but then the call either becomes distorted or cuts out for no apparent reason.

VoLTE is the technology behind 4G-calling and this should be enabled.
Apple phones show "4G call" next to the coverage indicators, Android shows "VoLTE".
Troubleshooting steps differ, depending whether this is shown on-screen.
