Power cut loss of EE network.

Could someone please explain what is happening when we get a power cut, which is regular at the moment, we lose our EE mobile connection too.  It seems as if their mast is powered on the same mains line. This is awkward as we have no way of contacting services such as medical, police or family during the power cuts. This could apply to everyone in 2025 when BT take down all the landlines.

All radio sites use electric to power the equipment, and a loss of mains power ultimately affects them too. Some sites have battery backup, but the amount & extent of this can vary.

You're absolutely right - the migration of landlines from copper-fed to IP-based does cause some issues when mobile coverage is problematic in a location for whatever reason.
