It's now been 9 days of trying to receive a flippin text to a new SIM I ordered direct from EE!!? I've spent hours on the phone to CS, tech2 team leader and tech2 to no avail
It has cost me hours of my working week and wages, luckily I have a few other numbers on different networks but it's cost me a small fortune to top everything up, buy new packs and try not to lose customers. Outrageous!
I contacted CS multiple times, had it activated, they gave me a free top up, only ever able to send SMS, use data and make calls although not tried to ring it which means using another number and phone which I will try out of curiosity. It's a major major issue, I was told to top it up myself and that EE gifting me credit wouldn't count, topped up and NADA!!?
I've seen multiple reports on here all saying different reasons, it feels like tech level 2 are total frauds and have no idea so just make random crap up, in order to change OTP phone number you need bank access with most major banks, I cannot change the OTP number for my card without access to bank account that requires multiple hoop jumps, so even that method of fraud is long and would only enable purchasing if a serious crimbo managed to fraud his little greasy hands into your bank or somehow bragging the bank, which could be delt with by banks and would all be covered for loss, tech 2 claimed they've stopped EE Sims being able to receive SMS without paying for credit first after activation, once I do they said I will receive messages, didn't happen! I'm Sus that they think we are all scammers so want us to link cards etc, WHICH IVE DONE and made no difference!!!! Absolutely abysmal, I was on the phone last week for hours. Something stinks. I want a refund asap for the credit I applied after being told it will sort it. It's me who's been scammed, I'm just glad I didn't switch any banks, accounts or apps to the number as I would be taking EE to court.
Might as well change your company name back to orange because you've absolutely regressed!
And yes, I've tried it all, top ups, being sent the new settings, every trick, d/c radio from network, take sum out give it a magic rub used other Sims in same brand new mid range phone, disabled duel SIM just had EE one as main and tried to get websites to send me pass codes for sign ups literally nothing. I managed to receive 1 text last week as I was on phone to CS...
2025 and SMS from one of the biggest mobile companies in one of the best countries in the world is an absolute shiz show. It's remarkable

Hi, I've had this all last week and into now at almost 1am on a Monday, I use multiple phones and Sims for work and 2 for personal as I travel into Europe often for work, I cannot receive messages for anything only from 150, I can send messages to my other number in same phone to another network, can make calls and have data, I have topped it up and seemingly been lied to about the issue, CS topped up my phone (usually I can receive messages and calls and get number without topping up,which is why I liked EE) but a tech 2 told me as it's EE that put the top up on, id need to top it up myself and told me it was for security and anti fraud security reasons for banking etc which made no sense to me, as you would still need all the other persons details in order to get into someone's bank account!? Now I've come to the forums and see multiple people talking about the exact same issue as far back as February. I've also topped the number up with a fiver and sent my other number messages which my other SIM receives, so now I'm out of pocket and no fix. That's feels like a trading standards crime. They obviously knew that my additional top up on top wouldn't make a jot of difference and now seeing others saying tech 2 knows it's an issue, I feel this is very very suspicious. I feel like I've been treated like some 2 bit criminal, it's ridiculous and not how proper scamming even works 😁🤣
Tomorrow I'm getting on the blower to 150 as this is probably the worst situation I can remember since I had a Nokia in the early 2000s, it's classic orange! I'm from Bristol and knew I should of stayed away, but last few years seemed like a decent option, until this mare!!
Any updates would be helpful

Hi @Whattherass
Welcome to the community.
I understand your frustration with this. We don't have access to your account here in the community, so it's difficult to comment on what could be causing the issue. The technical support (level 2) team are in the best position to investigate it and try to find a fix.
Did you open a complaint with the manager that you spoke to? Did they say what the next steps are to try and fix this for you?
Chris
