Phone wont work on 5G

We don't live in a 5G area and are currently away where there is only 5G and I can't use the Internet!! Help!!

There is no such area as 5G only. Your device will connect to the network still.

  • Are you innthe UK? 
  • What device do you have?
  • Are you on EE PAYG or pay monthly contract?

Yes in UK. I've an A53 but it just won't work on 5G. I've managed to use my husband's phone to find a solution and selected 4G/3G network rather than 5G and its working but slowly. I'm on a monthly payment.

All 5G devices will fallback to 4G, 3G & 2G in locations where there's no 5G available.

Is your phone showing signal indicators? There are locations in the UK where there is only 4G coverage, but the same can't be said for 5G.

You need a 5G-enabled plan & device in a 5G-serviced location, to use 5G services.

Hi shelleyh if your a53 is more or less the same as my samsung a22 5g phone have you checked your settings in the phone ? as what I did was go into settings then click on connections then click on mobile networks then click on network mode & in the list at the top it should say 5g/lte/3g/2g (auto connect) just click on that & you should have your 5g signal 👍.. if this works please give me a thumbs up  .. bionic
