Phone signal almost non existent in CO7 area of Colchester. Drops from 1 bar to nil. Can't make phone calls. Not the first time this has happened and thinking of changing supplier.

Hi @Hils44
Welcome to the community.
Sorry to hear that you're having some problems with your service. Could you try checking our network status checker?

Thankyou Christopher. I had already checked status. Wasn't particularly helpful. However, signal was better about an hour later. It is not particularly good in this area. I have a neighbour with EE and she often complains about the signal, so much so, that she is looking to change after Christmas.

In Colchester generally but not in my post code, Colchester town is about 9 miles from me.

What does it report for your area if you select the 'check coverage' option @Hils44?

My phone is 6 years old on 3G so can't enter device name. Used the nearest equivalent which showed 4 bars at the moment. My phone is showing between 2 and 3 bars. I know I will have to get a new phone shortly.

Hi @Hils44,
If you were to upgrade to a 4G phone, you'd benefit from 4G Calling and WiFi Calling to improve your connectivity.
Please also bear in mind We’re Switching Off Our 3G Network in the future.

The bars are only a rough guide to service, and a slight variation can often be perfectly normal.
As mentioned above, EE's 3G network is being switched off next year so older phones will have the 2G network to fall back on.
In many locations now, a 4G-calling/VoLTE phone offers better coverage than 2G.

Forgive my ignorance but what does VoLTE mean please?
