Nope sorry have to agree with Arundalep on this one I also have had terrible signal since the change over.
Been fighting with bad signal since Jan.
In my case middle of a town and the issue is band 3.
On Band 20 its fine and then I get forced onto Band 3 and it drops.
I'll let you puzzle out the reason why there might now be a preference to be pushed up from band 20 to band 3...

I'm SK11 8QN and I have noticed issues since 3g went off, my issue is that since the switch my phone is being pushed to band 3 from band 20 but it ends up dropping my phone off the network. It thinks its got -110+ dBm on band 3 but then when it moves its more like -125dBm and then nothing and its not moving back to band 20 quick enough so it drops the call.
And my handset won't preference VoWIFI.
I assume its due to congestion now other devices can't 3g so they are struggling with marginal signals on that 800mhz band.
But I've lost the will to live trying to explain this to anyone at EE.
NOBODY CARES!!!!
So as soon as I can I'm leaving EE, the promise 1 1/2 years ago was better signal. Which for the first year it was until it wasn't.
Oh well.

My 2 cents.
Since the 3g turn of I keep being forced off band 20 in preference to band 3.
Issue is my location band 3 is awful and drops out. (shows good signal but isn't and oh my how it drains my battery.)
I think a lot of 3g traffic ended up on band 20 and it's now causing me all sorts of issues as EE try's to deal with that congestion..
Can't decide if to go back to samsung handset where I can force my own band selection or just wait out the last half a year of my contract and go back to three.

Your 3 posts have been merged into one single thread.
In the overwhelming majority of 3G service, there was already overlap with both 2G & 4G 1800Mhz, but there would have been fringe cases where B20 would pick up the slack. B20 is set at a lower-priority in the radio stack than any other band, by design that it's a coverage layer of last resort. Equally VoLTE drops would be one of the last symptoms of radio congestion to be exhibited.
Yours may be a fringe case where a new site could be the ideal solution. Network developments over the next 6-12months are going to be especially interesting.
