So I have a 5G router, Huawei CPE Pro 2 and couple of days ago I was getting good download speeds using 5G and all of a sudden the speed went down and became slow.
I checked the settings of my router to see if it's getting any 5G frequency but it's not.
The unit has full 5G 5 bars, but no frequency which means it's not getting any 5G data.
I can't upload any pictures to show you because it's not letting me add it to this post.
Are there any issues with 5G currently?

Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Quick reply from my phone, I’ll post a proper reply when I’m home.
this is the configuration of the router
SMA right 1 & 2 = pair low band 700~1800
SMA right 3 & 4 = high band 1800~2700
=4x4 MIMO
SMA left 1 & 2, 3, 4 = 3300~3800
what I’ve tried so far:-
ive removed the Bluespot antenna and replaced it with a Poynting 4G/5G antenna so that one supports all frequency up to 3800Mhz.
and yes the internal antennas are all disconnected.
Yes the router is unlocked. Bought outright.
the 2 x 4G antennas are pointing directly to the mast that few hundred metres away. The 1 x 5G is pointing the opposite to pick up 5G signal.
All the antennas are waterproofed.
EE said there are no issues in my area which I doubt. 3 days ago this was all working, picking up 5G on 3600Mhz frequency.
full reset has been done several times.
i can’t attach pics of the 5G speed as I’m on mobile. (I’ve tried)

My post was deleted raahhhh. Spend a good 15 mins writing my reply with screenshots. Why do posts get deleted if they have pictures attached? Doesn’t make sense.
ill write again

Can't find anything. Weird because I can see the picture I attached to it and it say my post was successful. Let's go again

I'm about 500 metres away from the mast, and the Poynting antennas help a lot with the signal strength.
Let's start one by one.
So the router was modded and it is now the following:
SMA Left 1 & 2 = pair low band 700-1800 Mhz
SMA Left 3 & 4 = high band 1800-2700 Mhz
SMA Right 1,2,3 & 4 = 3300 - 3800 Mhz
The remaining 2 ports are empty.
I have also swapped the Bluespot antenna for a Poynting one and same issue. It picks up 5G but no frequency. The Poynting has full range 0-3800Mhz
The router is unlocked. It's not assigned to any networks. Was bought outright.
The 2 x 4G antenna is pointing directly at the mast (thus the good connection), and the 1 x 5G is pointing in the opposite direction to pick up the 5G signal
All antennas are waterproofed.
EE said there are no issues in my area which I doubt because this used to work as of 3 days ago. Was getting 350Mbps +.
Here are some pics:

Ok, I've had a quick look but I'm out and about in my car at the moment so I won't be able to absorb the information and do a decent reply until probably after 10 tonight.
Did you do a factory reset on the router yet?

Also before I forget what's the bearing of the Antennas, need something in Degrees or with a Ref to North so I can compare on a Map.

Yes, I've reset the device several times.
And I don't know any bearings of the antennas I'm afraid. It was all trial and error until I hit the 5G mast. And for 4G, I used cellmapper to point the 2 x Poynting antennas to. It's perpendicular to my house so it was easy adjusting that.

No compass bearings, typical Kent Lad, see us Essex Boys always have a compass in our pockets so we can find our way to the nearest Pub. 😉

Haha. Good one.
I guess I can use the Compass app on my iPhone to get some bearings. What bearings do you need and how to measure it? i mean where to point it? The same direction as the antennas?
