@SE13 : You originally set up these network status updates from the Network Status Checker 's  Manage my places. Unfortunately once you have left EE you can't remove it from there as it no longer recognises your no. You will need to call CS to remove it for you.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Thanks for coming back and letting us know this is now sorted @SE13

Leanne 🙂

I've recently ported my number out of EE and am getting plagued with these text messages. I spoke to CS three times this week and the first two agents said they had disabled it, the third admitted that apparently there's actually no way for them to do this and to block the messages.

That excuse isn't acceptable and I've escalated this to a Manager I dealt with at EE on another issue. If it still can't be resolved I'll escalate to Ofcom's contact centre as excuses like that aren't acceptable.

I'm still an EE customer as my wife's phone is still on the same account so it's not like the account has been closed completely and in effect I've not completely left the network!

@neilsclark : OFCOM don't handle individual complaints. You can make a formal complaint to EE & if you don't get satisfaction after 8 weeks you can take it to EE's ADR provider. See Complaints code of practice and here is the Complaints Form at the foot of the page.

Thanks, I'll fill out that complaints form and see where that takes me in the first instance.
