Eufy

I have a Eufy doorbell and cameras at my home.  I can connect to the cameras when using WiFi on my mobile when away from home.  When no WiFi is available, and I use my mobile network, I can connect to the system, but it will not allow me to view the cameras.  HOWEVER, if I connect to a VPN first, then the mobile network is sufficient to access the cameras.

Why can I not access the cameras when using the mobile network alone, but works fine if I connect through a VPN?

What mobile device are you using?

It sounds like it could be an issue with the default IPv4v6 on the EE Mobile network.

If this is an Android device, you should be able to change the IP Type in your APN settings to IPv4 Only which could resolve the issue.

On an Apple device a VPN is the only way to fix this.

@DaveLaurenson   Have you tried just restarting the WiFi router?   Switch it off for 30+ seconds.    Are you using a Eufy Homebase have you tried restarting that ?   And just to check you have allowed the Eufy app to use cellular data ?

@Matt_124   I can connect to my Eufy devices without using a VPN on my iPhone.    That includes all devices that use my Homebase and these devices that work independently of the Homebase.

Thank you @Matt_124!  That worked for me as I have an Android.
